Brad Klos
Managing Partner
Besides his role at e-merge, Brad is the Managing Partner at Evolve Medtech Partners, a medical device development company and incubator. He previously served as the President and CEO of Traverse Vascular (acquired June 2022), co-founder of SinglePass Transseptal (acquired Dec. 2023) and CEO of Boa Medical (acquired April 2025). Brad is an inventor on 14 patents, with several others pending, spanning a range of medical device specialties. He holds a BA in International Relations and an MBA from the University of San Diego.
John M. Xitco
Managing Partner
John brings broad experience in real estate, petroleum and fuel distribution, heavy construction, alternative finance, and venture capital. His medical device career began as a key investor in Traverse Vascular, followed by co-founding e-merge with successful exits including SinglePass Transseptal and Boa Medical. He holds a BA in Business from the University of San Diego.
Randy Werneth
Venture Partner
Randy has extensive experience spanning entrepreneurial ventures and Fortune 500 corporations within the medical device industry. He has founded several companies including Acutus Medical, Arga Medtech, and Ablation Frontiers. He currently serves as President and CEO of Maxwell Biomedical and as a Partner at Evolve Medtech. Randy is an inventor on more than 70 U.S. patents cross diverse medical technology fields. He holds a BS in engineering from Arizona State and MSc in Preclinical Research from UCLA.
Jim Pray
Limited Partner and Advisor
Jim was a founding member of Penumbra at its inception in 2004, serving as President and later as President of International until his retirement in 2022. He led Global Sales and Marketing for 10 years, before focusing on the international business for his final 8 years. Earlier in his career, Jim held management roles in sales and marketing, operations and R&D at Boston Scientific and Scimed. He holds BS and MS degrees from the University of Minnesota.
